Free candy match-3, played right to the last board

ZoneAngle is an independent editorial site about free-to-play candy match-3 games on Android. Every title on this page has been installed on an Australian handset, played through its opening chapters and written up in plain language — what the mechanics actually feel like, how long a session runs, and where the patience runs out.

Nothing is sold here and nothing is installed from here. The links go straight to Google Play, and the notes below are the ones a friend would give you before you spend an evening on a puzzle board.

  • 3 titles in the current lineup
  • 0 affiliate links or sponsored placements
  • AU store region used for every note

The lineup

Three sweet puzzlers, each played on an Australian handset

The lineup is short on purpose. A title stays on the phone for at least a fortnight before anything is written about it, and it comes off this page the moment the build stops matching what is described here. Genre labels follow the Google Play listing; everything else below is a hands-on note.

Sweet Bonanza 1000 board filled with jelly hearts, grapes, watermelon slices and apples

A cascade board of fruit and jelly hearts that clears in falling columns rather than tidy swaps — closer to an arcade clear than a classic match-3. Boards are short, the tempo is quick, and there is no tutorial gate at all: the first grid is playable seconds after the splash screen. It is the least polished of the three, with the odd stutter on an older handset, and Google Play has not gathered enough feedback to show a star figure for it yet.

Casual · match-3

4.7Play rating

The most conventional of the three, and by far the most patient with a new player.

Sweet Candy Puzzle level with a move counter, goal panel and layered wooden obstacles on the board

Objective-based match-3 with layered obstacles — crates, icing and wrapped sweets that need two or three clears to shift. Levels run on a move budget instead of a timer, so the board favours planning over speed, and the booster set is introduced slowly across the first five levels. Sessions run long: a stubborn level can eat ten minutes before the grid finally opens up. A connection is needed for level loading, which rules it out for the tunnel stretch of a commute.

5.0Play rating

Tile Candy stage thirty-five with a stacked candy pile above a seven-slot tray

Strictly speaking this is not a match-3 at all: it is the tile-tray format, where three identical sweets are pulled into a seven-slot tray and vanish. Stages are tiny, two to four minutes each, which makes it the pick of the three for a queue or a lift ride. Difficulty climbs sharply past stage forty, and the tray fills faster than it clears unless you plan two layers ahead.

  • Plays fully offline once installed
  • Portrait layout, workable one-handed
  • No countdown on standard stages

What actually separates the three boards

Board style, pacing and entry difficulty across the three titles covered on this page.
Title Board style Typical session Entry difficulty Offline play Play rating (AU)
Sweet Bonanza 1000Arcade Falling fruit cascade on a six column grid; clears resolve top to bottom without a swap step Four to seven minutes a board Immediate — no tutorial gate, the first grid loads straight into play Boards load offline Not yet rated
Sweet Candy Puzzle: Match GameCasual Objective match-3 with crates, icing and wrapped sweets stacked over the grid Eight to twelve minutes a level Gentle — guided across the first five levels before boosters appear Connection needed 4.7
Tile Candy: Sweet BlastCasual Stacked tile pile feeding a seven slot tray; three identical sweets clear together Two to four minutes a stage Easy start, sharp step up somewhere past stage forty Full stages offline 5.0

These three were picked because each is free to install, sits in the sweets corner of Google Play and carries no age-restricted content. Every column was filled in from playing the same builds on one Android handset in the Australian store region, and the star figures are the Play values shown for that region.

How this site is run, and what Angle Dispatch sends

ZoneAngle carries no advertising, no affiliate links and no sponsored placements. The links to Google Play are plain links, and nothing is paid for a tap on one of them. The site is published by one person and it is funded in exactly one way: a small paid subscription called Angle Dispatch.

Angle Dispatch is an email publication, not an app. Twice a month a dispatch goes out with a full write-up of a level or board concept designed here from scratch — never a copy of anything from a store listing. Each one carries the layout diagram, a step-by-step walkthrough of the intended solution, a schematic of which booster unlocks which cascade, and a breakdown of the mechanic the level was built to teach. Plain email with images: no login, no portal, no app to install.

  1. Send an emailWrite to the address in the contact section below with the word Dispatch in the subject line. There is no form on this site.
  2. Confirm in writingA reply comes back stating the price, the billing interval and a secure payment link. Nothing is ever charged until you answer that reply and confirm.
  3. Dispatches arriveTwo a month, on the first and third Tuesday, from the same address you wrote to. Every dispatch identifies the sender and carries a working unsubscribe line, as required by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
  4. Stop whenever you likeReply to any dispatch with the word Stop. The subscription closes at the end of the current billing month and nothing further is charged.
